Ryan Mason has admitted he is 'lucky to be alive' after undergoing brain surgery following his clash of heads with Gary Cahill.
The Hull midfielder spent just over a week in hospital after suffering a fractured skull during the 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Mason was released from hospital on Monday and has posted a statement on Twitter.
It
read: "I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support that
has been shown to both me and and my entire family over the past week
or so.
"It
has been an emotional roller coaster and I feel lucky to be alive, but
I’m happy to say that I’m now at home resting and recovering.
"My
fiance and family have read so many messages of support to me over the
past week, To have had so many people send messages to me, including
from fellow players, clubs (in particular the support shown to me from
both Hull City and Tottenham Hotspur), so many fans as well as the
support I have received from the general public around the world has
been completely overwhelming.

Following the backlash that trailed her performance at Shatta Wale's Reign Concert over the weekend, Ghanaian singer, Fantana has now released a statement. The singer stated that she is not ashamed of being a woman and also mesntruating. An expectant father has accused EFCC officials of breaking into his home in the middle of the night to conduct a search without a warrant. The man said he was at his home in Olokuta, Kemta, in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta between 3 am to 5 am, when some men forcefully broke into his house using a hammer.
