MY NIGERIA'S LEGENDARY TALK SHOW HOST: ADESUWA ONYENOKWE

 
Following graduation from university, Adesuwa was posted to Sokoto for her National service in 1983, and worked at NTA Sokoto. That was where she had her first taste of broadcasting; and it was memorable like she said. Danladi Bako, who was the head of the presentation unit, had encouraged her to present a youth programme on television because he believed she had good diction. When she returned from NYSC, unfortunately there was no vacancy for a TV job. Her first job was as a teacher  and that was in Benin in 1984, after which she got the broadcast job eventually, after one year following an audition for newscasters with Bendel Broadcasting service now Edo Broadcasting service. She had her masters at  University of Ibadan in 1988, and graduated, got married and moved to NTA Network Service in Lagos same year after masters. She had covered beats on social services, environment and health as a reporter. "I was however later deployed to Newsline, the NTA Sunday magazine show. In the course of my career, I have covered some landmark events such as the pastoral visit of Pope John Paul II, the Catholic Pontiff, to Nigeria."

She has worked with the Nigeria Television Authority as a staff till 1998, after which she retired to set up her own media production company called Universal communications. With a degree in dramatic arts and a master's degree in language arts, communication as a tool for development has always been her main interest; an interest that has shown in the care and concern she takes in packaging reports or programs with the viewer in mind - the same diligence that won her an award in 1994. With over 26 years of experience now in the media. Still continued with NTA as an independent producer of Today's Woman, and presenter of One on One in February 2000. She started TW magazine to increase the reach of today’s woman brand, a lifestyle magazine, which primarily aims at feeding women with information and stories that inspire while helping them improve their body, mind and soul. TW magazine hit the streets on the 30th of September 2007 and by July 31 2013 our e-version launched via an Ipad and android app developed by Bara Solutions.

In 2014 as i Watched her interview one of Nigeria's famous footballer Segun Odegbami brought back great memories to the man, you could feel the excitement in his body, mind and soul. This is one beautiful thing Mrs Onyenokwe enjoys doing, a confident Tigress who gets butterflies when she makes people happy. i appreciate her works, coming from a lady who has stayed in line in the communication world, even before i was born, is worth my attention.

Mrs Onyenokwe is an icon to behold, she is one of my best women i would not leave out. whats your story! is your story, 'a story for the gods?' Well wether good or bad its all about what you lived for, the changes you made and the lives you have impacted and trust me, i will fish you out wherever you are. WHO'S NEXT!
