According to LIB who visited the Alimosho General Hospital in Igando, where the Medical Director,  Dr. Madewa Adebajo, explained what exactly transpired. LIB reports that the Medical Director had explained that the mother came with her 10-year-old son on Sunday evening, October 13, for treatment and they began attending to him, but there was an emergency along the line that needed to be given priority. He explained that there were only two doctors on the weekend call but patients were many due to the fact that Sunday is the only time most working parents can take their children to the hospital. While the patient was waiting with her son, there was an emergency involving a 6-month-old child who was at the brink of death. The child was having a "respiratory distress". As a result, both doctors on call had to focus on the child, who died eventually. THE Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Sunday gave a four-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to accept its demand for the consequential adjustment of salaries, based on the new minimum wage, or risk a nation-wide strike. To douse the brewing tension and avert the strike, Labour and Employment Minister Senator Chris Ngige has called for a meeting between NLC and the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) tomorrow. The ultimatum ends Wednesday, the umbrella union said in a letter to the Federal Government by its General-Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, urging the state councils to prepare for dispute.

The black dog, believed to be a pitbull, was said to have broken free from its cage and wandered off into the block where little Michael was playing with his four-year-old brother. The elder brother ran away upon seeing the dog but his younger brother was not spared as the dog grabbed him by the head and pulled him about 30 metres away and began to bite him repeatedly. Luckily for the 1 year old, a neighbor who was at her balcony raised alarm upon seeing the boy being dragged by the dog bitting off his ear and tearing off his scalp, exposing his brain. Researchers from Griffith University in Queensland have created a "cure" for cervical cancer by using gene-editing technology to target cervical cancer tumours in mice using "stealth" nanoparticles. Lead researcher Professor Nigel McMillan said it's the first cancer cure using this technology.  According to ABC, the mice treated had a 100 per cent survival rate, raising hopes for women with cervical cancer. The gene-editing tool, known as CRISPR-Cas9, is injected by nanoparticles in to the patient's bloodsteam. The nanoparticles then search for the cancer-causing gene E7 and cut the gene in half. When the cell repairs the gene with extra DNA, the cell doesn't recognise the cancerous cells and generates a healthy cell.  Describing the nanoparticles, Professor Nigel McMillan said it works like a spell-checker. Despite a court order releasing Omoyele Sowore, the Nigerian authorities have refused to free the rights activist and journalist. While his lawyers claim that all the conditions set by the court for Sowore’s freedom had been met, the Department of State Services (DSS), which is holding him, maintains that the process for effecting the court’s order remain incomplete. Some lawyers have taken to a platform on Facebook to react to the speech made by Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice,  Abubakar Malami (SAN) , by  Aminu Alilu,   while being interviewed on the reasons why Sowore was still detained despite the court order. The lawyers tagged his speech as incoherent while some others gave him a round of applause.
