The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday in Abuja presented a Certificate of Return to President Muhammadu Buhari, winner of the Feb. 23 Presidential election. The certificate was presented to the President by the Returning Officer of the election, who is also the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu. Yakubu first invited the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who in turn invited the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to sign and collect the Certificate of Return.

A seven-man syndicate which allegedly impersonated President Uhuru Kenyatta and other government officials to defraud local business tycoon Naushad Merali of a huge sum of money, has been busted by Kenyan Police. Muhammadu Buhari  from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has won the 2019 Nigerian presidential elections, announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) today Wednesday, February 27th, 2019. Udeme Otike-Odibi esq who was accused of killing her husband, Symphorosa Otike-Odibi, on May 3, 2018, an offences contrary to sections 165 (b) and 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, has urged the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere to reject her confessional statements made to the police. According to to her lawyer, Oluseye Banjoko, noted that the constitution made provisions that the statement of any person arrested must be made in the presence of a legal practitioner or must be videoed. She stated that so long as the procedures as stated in the Administration of Criminal Justice Law was not complied with, it should be rejected. Cardinal George Pell, once the third most powerful man in the Vatican and Australia’s most senior Catholic, has been found guilty of child sexual abuse after a trial in Melbourne. A jury delivered the unanimous verdict on December 11th in Melbourne’s county court, but the result was subject to a suppression order and could not be reported until now. Pell, who is on leave from his role in Rome as Vatican treasurer, was found guilty of sexually penetrating a child under the age of 16 as well as four charges of an indecent act with a child under the age of 16. The offences occurred in December 1996 and early 1997 at St Patrick’s Cathedral, months after Pell was inaugurated as archbishop of Melbourne. He will be sentenced on Wednesday, having been out on bail since the verdict and recovering from knee surgery.

Skynews has confirmed that the German Police have arrested a 30-year-old man from Gelsenkirchen who allegedly assaulted of a Manchester City fan after the Champions League game against Schalke. The City fan was purportedly leaving the Veltins Arena with his parents and sister when he was punched to the floor, hitting his head which caused severe injuries. He suffered a life-threatening "massive brain injury" on Wednesday and remains a medically-induced coma in a German hospital.

Mrs Ibisaki Amachree died of a gun shot wound allegedly shot by a trigger happy policeman while on assignment with INEC during Saturday's presidential and National assemble elections. Her father has also penned down heartrending message in Facebook from the incident scene to mourn his daughter.
