A mistake has just caused the death of an electrician while working on a transformer, on Wednesday, in Eliozu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. An eyewitness said that the deceased had forgotten to remove the transformer fuses before proceeding to work on the electricity pole, only for power to be restored and electrocuted him. Facebook Expects to Be Fined Up to $5 Billion by F.T.C. for Privacy Violations

Facebook is expected to be fined up to $5 billion by the Federal Trade Commission FTC for privacy violations. The social network disclosed the amount in its quarterly financial results, saying it estimated a one-time charge of $3 billion to $5 billion in connection with an “ongoing inquiry” by the F.T.C. Facebook according to the New York Times had added that “the matter remains unresolved, and there can be no assurance as to the timing or the terms of any final outcome.”

Two women identified as Emerald Bassey and Edith Omon has been declared wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for allegedly trafficking a three-month-old baby. NAPTIP Press and Public Relations Department, Nneka Aniagoh in a statement said the women were involved in the trafficking of the baby from Lagos to Banjul in 2018. NAPTIP wishes to inform the general public that the two women- Andy Emerald Bassey Pastor and Anthony - Ibeneme Edith Omon, whose pictures are below have been declared wanted by NAPTIP over their alleged involvement in the Trafficking of a 3-month old baby from Lagos to Banjul. Yesterday our blog reported a sad incident that occured where nine persons were killed by a driver during their early morning Easter procession. One of the lynched persons has been identified as an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adamu Abdullahi, and a yet-to-be-identified man. British High Commission Confirms Death of British Woman Killed In Kaduna

A British woman identified as Faye Mooney has been confirmed by the British High Commission as one of two people shot dead by gunmen who stormed a holiday resort in Nigeria. A Mercy Corps statement said Ms Mooney, who was working in Nigeria, was "tragically killed" by gunmen while on holiday in the northern city of Kaduna.

Youths On Procession of 'Station of the Cross' Throw Down Cross and Beat to Death Driver Who Rammed in to Them Killing 8 Persons

Divaviva111.com learnt that some youths in a state of anger, threw away the cross they had carried during their Easter procession to beat up a security official who drove into the procession killing at least eight people on Sunday night. The incident happened in Alheri junction, Biu road of Gombe State. The driver of the vehicle is said to be an official of the civil defence (NSCDC) while his passenger is said to be a police officer. Both men died from the beating.   The news making rounds reads, Chairman of the Gombe State Battalion Brigade of the Boys Brigade, Isaac Kwadang, told reporters that he received information about the incident around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. According to him, the civil defence officer, though not on official duty, met the procession, exchanged words with the youth, and drove past them. He allegedly switched off his car’s full lights, reversed the vehicle and rammed into the procession killing eight people on the spot.

A group led by a 20-man Senior Advocates of Nigeria with the backing of the Justice Reform Project has stated that the ruling of the tribunal and the resignation of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria Walter Onnoghen’s was not enough as they are advocating same verdict or stricter reforms in the judiciary and also the legal profession. Female Teacher Who Had Sex With Student In Class, Set to Serve Time in Prison.

47 year-old female teacher Aimee Palmitessa, who had sex with her student was immediately sentenced to three years behind bars following her plea to three felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse. Palmitessa had sex over the course of the summer in 2017 with the teenage boy, who was once a student in one of her classes, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office in USA.. She was arrested after the teenager informed authorities about what had happened, according to prosecutors. Palmitessa — is set to surrender May 1 to begin serving her time behind bars.

It is no longer news that the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Thursday in its historic judgement convicted Justice Walter Onnoghen of charges of breach of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers and ordered his removal from office as the Chief Justice of Nigeria. Danladi Umar had ordered Onnoghen’s removal as the Chairman of both the National Judicial Council and the Federal Judicial Service Commission. He also ordered that a ban of him from holding any public office for a period of 10 years. Delta State Police Command Diffuse Charm Of Suspected Kidnappers In An Attempt to Vanish

Divaviva111 learnt that some Officers of the Delta State police command, yesterday Thursday, rescued a lady from suspected kidnappers/ritualists who was returning from Ogbogonogo market where she had boarded a tricycle. Two other gang members later joined her from both sides, leaving her in the middle. The rider refused to stop at the victim’s destination, forcing her to raise an alarm that attracted some policemen who gave them a hot chase and eventually rescued the girl and arrested the suspects. Just like the movie 'Lord of the Ring' an eyewitness said one of them in a bid to disappear threw a ring suspected to be magic ring in his mouth and attempted to vanish but the Police diffused the charm.  Irate youths who gathered at the scene made efforts to go on jungle justice but the police prevented them.

Recall that the mass killing occurred sometime in August 6, 2017 wherein about 13 worshipers of St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu , in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state were brutal murdered while praising their God. In a twist of fate in an accelerated hearing, there has been several acquittals in December.
