British screen icon Christopher Lee has died aged 93.The Telegraph reports that the actor passed away on Sunday at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. His family delayed the public announcement to inform close family members first.Lee was being treated for respiratory problems and heart failure over the last few weeks before he succumbed to his illnesses.The actor who first found fame as a Hammer Horror star went on to achieve global star status thanks to high profile roles as Scaramanga in ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’, Saruman in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’, and as Count Dooku in ‘Star Wars: Attack of the Clones’. He will be missed by some of his fans.

Her statement read in part;  "Regardless of my costume being transparent, my only option was to put on a sanitary pad and still go ahead to perform. I am a woman and I’m not ashamed of menstruating. "I want to urge every woman to resist being discriminated against because of menstruation. I hope some people read wide and learn about menstrual health to stop the stereotype against young girls and women. "Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
