He began to entertain a bizarre notion that his pet CAT had been doing its business like a human - and set up a video camera to find out.
Unlikely, right? Think again...
In the video above, the tabby can be seen entering the bathroom and leaping up on to the seat like it's done this many times before.
It sniffs around for a bit before looking to position itself for the job at hand.
Something gives it paws for thought and, miaowing, it jumps down again before deciding to go fur it after all and resuming its position over the bowl.
Facing away from the bowl, the sound of the fantastic feline tinkling into the toilet can then clearly be heard.
