OBAMA REBUFFED BY KENYATTA ON THE GAY RIGHTS ISSUE.

Barack Obama has urged Kenya to treat homosexuals equally under the law, but his remarks were quickly
dismissed by his Kenyan counterpart - who claimed LGBT rights were “not really an issue” in the country.

Mr Obama, the first sitting US president to ever visit Kenya, drew a comparison between the treatment of the LGBT community in Kenya and that of the African American community in the US.

"The state should not discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation," Mr Obama said in the first press conference of the historic trip to his father’s home nation.

"Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
