An eight-year-old boy has been stranded in a Cyprus hospital after developing a potentially life-threatening and rare allergic reaction while on holiday.
Layton Tyas, eight, from Anlaby, Yorkshire, was in Protaras, Cyprus, for his uncle's wedding when his face started swelling up
and a rash formed across his body.

He was rushed to hospital, where doctors told his mother, Leigh, his airways would have become blocked if he was seen any later.
Although doctors have identified Layton's swelling as angioedema - a build-up of fluid that causes the skin to swell - they are still unsure about why he has suffered the reaction.
Leigh said: "We feel helpless at the moment. The doctors have said they don't know the cause of the reaction or the best way to treat Layton.
"I don't even know when we are coming home. He keeps on packing our suitcases because he is desperate to come home, but it is a waiting game."

Layton, who lives with his mother and sister, Aaliyah, in Anlaby, Yorkshire, had been in the country for a week before he first started to feel ill during his uncle Michael's wedding last Thursday.
Leigh said: "We had been to a clinic and they just said he had a water infection.
"But we got back from the wedding in the early hours of Friday morning and his lips and face had started swelling up and a rash came out over his body.

"An ambulance took him to hospital and they had to put an intravenous injection in."
Leigh was due to return home with her son on Sunday but has been told he is unable to fly until he gets better.
She said: "We have had five different consultants to see him and all of them said they had never seen anything like it before.

"They have asked me what he's done differently, but he has eaten and drunk exactly the same things as back home.
"This is hard enough for him, but having it in a foreign country where we don't understand the language is even harder.
""He's not his usual self at all - he's normally bouncing off the walls, but he is really missing home.
"It's heartbreaking because he wants to go home but we can't until he gets better."

Well i do know some kids are allergic to nuts and all sorts of normal foods any one could eat. Parents needs to be mindful with kids with allergies. to better educate their kids on what and what not to eat.
