A woman has had her arms and legs amputated after being bitten by a tick on holiday.
Jo Rogers, 40, contracted deadly Rocky Mountain spotted fever while on a short family trip to northeast Oklahoma.

The mum-of-two, from Shawnee, was taken ill after visiting Grand Lake but dismissed her symptoms as a case of flu, KOCO reported.
But after five days she was taken to hospital where tests for West Nile Virus and meningitis proved negative.

Doctors were forced to amputate all four of Rogers' limbs after her organs started to shut down.
Tests eventually showed that she was suffering from Rock Mountain spotted fever, contracted from a single tick bite that had gone unnoticed.
Rogers’ cousin, Lisa Morgan, told KOCO: "...her arms and feet were turning dark blue and black. It was crawling up her limbs.
"(They had) to save her life to keep the infection from getting to her vital organs."

Rogers has had surgeries to remove her right leg mid-thigh, her left leg below the knee and both of her arms mid-forearm, Morgan said on a GoFundMe page set up to help pay for medical bills.
She remains in a medically-induced coma after she went into septic shock, the post said.
The family added: "She will soon have more surgeries on her arms to prevent the infection from spreading more.
"Last Friday, it was found that she has a blood clot in her lung, more infection in her blood and they are fighting the possibility of pneumonia." 

Only God can grant her the fortitude to bear the loss of her limbs. I write in tears and ask God to see her through.

EFCC Officials Forcefully Break Into An Expectant Woman's House at 3am

An expectant father has accused EFCC officials of breaking into his home in the middle of the night to conduct a search without a warrant. The man said he was at his home in Olokuta, Kemta, in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta between 3 am to 5 am, when some men forcefully broke into his house using a hammer.  He added that he was afraid they were armed robbers, so he hid in the guest bedroom with his pregnant wife as the men broke in through the sitting room window. According to him, the intruders claimed to be EFCC officials looking for "Yahoo boys", but they had no form of identification, neither did they have a search warrant.  Even without a search warrant, the victim alleged that they searched his house, damaged things, then left without as much as an apology.
