'Electric love': Dylan and Lexie were unharmed because they were holding hands during a lightning strike

A teenage couple who were struck by lightning have said they have an "electric love" after holding hands left them unharmed.

California pair Dylan Corliss and Lexie Varga were walking down a tree-lined street in Claremont on their way to get a burger when a lightening bolt hit them during a thunderstorm on Thursday.

According to their doctor, holding hands made the difference in their survival, reports Fox 12 Oregon.

Medic Stefan Reynoso said: "The chance of getting hit by lightning is very uncommon - perhaps one in a million .
