Brave Adele Bellis, 23, has spoken out after her ex-boyfriend Anthony Riley, 26, was found guilty of arranging the terrifying incident.
She lost an ear, was left partially bald and has “life-changing” facial scarring.
The ambush was the culmination of abuse by her on-off partner.
Ipswich Crown Court heard Riley paid £500 to cannabis user Jason Harrison, 27, to throw sulphuric acid over Adele.
On August 14 last year Harrison hurled the liquid over Adele at a bus stop near her home in Lowestoft, Suffolk, as she travelled to work.

Speaking after the guilty verdict to the Sun, Adele said: "I started screaming at people 'I'm burning, I'm burning'.
"I can't really remember the pain, I was in such shock. I could feel the acid dripping down my face, dripping down my back."
Adele described how a Good Samaritan threw water over her, which sparked smoke rising off.
Doctors at the hospital in Great Yarmouth told her that she could have been blinded if she hadn't turned her face seconds before the acid was thrown.
She completely lost her right ear and is partially bald.
She has undergone skin grafts and facial reconstruction surgery which is likely to continue throughout her life.
Det Con Matt Rogers said Adele has shown “incredible dignity” in the face of “barbaric violence”.
Speaking to the Sun Adele revealed she first dumped Riley in 2011 after he threatened her with a knife.
Then she escaped on a cruise ship for a year before the former amateur boxer persuaded her back.
Things soon turned bad again when Riley threatened her with a knife.
For days after the threat he reportedly marched up and down her street shouting.
Adele's family installed CCTV at their home after a woman threw a brick through the window.

After Riley was given a suspended sentence for harassing Adele, he managed to talk her back into a relationship when she worked as a beautician in a gym.

The relationship took a terrifying turn when he paid heroin addict Leon Thompson, 39, to slash his girlfriend in the mouth with a Stanley knife.
He also posted ‘revenge porn’ of the pair of them having sex on Facebook in a bid to cause her “complete and utter shame and humiliation.”
