Teen found hanged by her father a day after being handed a detention
Elizabeth
Gresty, 15, was said to be going thorough a "teenage phase" at the time
of her suicide
as she struggled with her GCSE revision. It was a teenage phase she was going through. She had been a little more moody, spending more time in her room recently
And when the keen
singer was confronted by Mrs Gresty, a hairdresser, as she returned
home, she told her mother she would not be attending the detention.
Elizabeth spent the rest of her evening "dancing and singing" with her headphones on the night before she died.
Stockport
Coroners' Court heard that the teenager was last seen by her parents in
the kitchen of their home at around 8pm on March 19.
She went into the kitchen before returning to her room and was not interrupted by her parents who thought she was revising.
But the popular teenager was discovered dead in her room by Mr Gresty the following morning.
Giving
evidence at an inquest held today, Mrs Gresty said: "She had just gone
through her mock exams. She was struggling a little bit.
"We
were trying to help her. She, like many teenage girls, had friends
round often and she would spend a lot of time in her room.
