A teenage girl has told how she was sexually assaulted by a fellow pupil in a school store room - and then BULLIED by other pupils after reporting her attacker.
Shannon Rooney, who was 15 at the time of the attack, has waived her right to anonymity to speak out in the hope it will help others.
The horrifying ordeal left her unable to finish her Highers at Denny High School, Stirlingshire, because she was bullied by other pupils after reporting her attacker.
Shannon, who is now 18, told the Daily Record: "It was a guy that I thought was a friend, he played the flute and I played the bagpipes and so we met through music.
"But then he pulled me into the storeroom and shut the door, I said ‘no’ but he sexually assaulted me.
"I told my brother about it and he said that I had to report it and so I went to the police and the boy was eventually arrested.
"He was made to leave the school, but because of the court case I got bullied by other children all the time.
"In the end I had to leave school in the middle of my Highers in sixth year
