Woman feared she would lose leg when limb 'exploded' after fun run

fun runner has told of her horror after her leg "exploded" after completing a 10k walk. Melissa King, 39, was tackling the Bernie Ten in Tasmania, Australia, after spending two months training for the race, and hoped to complete the course in two hours.

The fun runner said she was lucky not to lose her leg

Despite the discomfort, she finished the challenge in one hour and 51 minutes, MailOnline reports.
But the mum-of-two soon felt like her limbs were going to "explode", as her left leg turned bright red and doubled in size, with pressure three times what it should have been.
The dangerous swelling forced doctors to rush her into surgery to cut open the leg and drain the fluid, after diagnosing her with compartment syndrome
