Tormented football star Clarke Carlisle faces paying up to £100,000 in compensation to a lorry driver traumatised by his failed suicide bid.


Darren Pease was unable to work after former Leeds, Burnley and QPR ­defender Carlisle threw himself in front of his vehicle as it travelled at 60mph.

The trucker could be awarded cash for injuries to his face, psychological ­trauma and loss of earnings.

Darren, 54, said: “I’ve got a personal injury claim against him and he admits liability. Life hasn’t been easy the past 12 months.”
