But he made a crazy 9,000-mile dash from Florida to Hong Kong to fulfil his quota of Tour events




Ian Poulter made a mad 9,117-mile dash from Florida to Hong Kong, via New York, when he realised he had to play last week or be ineligible for next year’s Ryder Cup. No wonder he called it an ‘Oh s***’ moment.

The whole of Europe will be glad its wide-eyed, fist-pumping Ryder Cup superstar got there in the nick of time to prevent the unthinkable.

But after the relief naturally follows the question: how the hell did that ever happen?
