A man has been crushed to death in a horrific lift accident at a luxury apartment complex.
Eran Modan, 37, is believed to have tried to jump out of the overloaded lift when it suddenly jerked down.

Witnesses say his head became trapped between floors at the Espoir building in Brooklyn, Pix 11 reported.

Modan, 37, suffered "trauma to the head and torso" in the incident, which occurred at the Espoir building at around 4.15am.

Modan's friend told the Daily News that the victim "got scared" before trying to get out of the lift.
Mona Zarrin Ramsdell told the newspaper: "The elevator just dropped and then shoots up. "He got scared and tried to jump out when it dropped, his head was out and his body was in."
The elevator has been the subject of four violations, all of which have been resolved, according to documents seen by Pix 11.
One complaint read: "Elevator door opens half-way and shakes up and down sometimes when stopping on floor."
