Sleepwalking girl wanders nine miles, rides bus and curls up on sofa in different town
A girl sleepwalked nine miles and got on a bus before she woke up.
Taylor Gammel also stopped at a convenience store but stayed asleep the whole time and did not remember a thing afterwards.
The 19-year--old sparked a panic at 6am when her father woke up and found she was missing from their home in Arvada, Colorado.
Miss Gammel has a history of sleepwalking and police put out an alert for her.
They also got a bloodhound out hunting the streets and distributed her picture on the Internet and TV.
Three hours and nine miles later, Miss Gammel was found by her cousins in the town of Westminster - asleep on a sofa.
The whole time she had been wearing just tracksuit bottoms, a T-shirt and socks.
Mark Techmeyer of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said: “She did not have shoes.
“No phone, no money, no purse, no anything. She got up and walked out of the house.
“She has no recollection of being on a bus, and she had no money on her.”
Miss Gammel suffers from a severe form sleepwalking which affects between one per cent and 15 per cent of the population, mostly children.
Her father Steve said: '“She just starts walking. And I don’t think she knows where she's going or what she’s going which makes it even scarier.”
