This is the eerie shadow appearing to show a hanging man at a road junction called Dead Man's Cross which has left social media spooked.
The chilling image appeared on the wall in Dartmouth, Devon, near where gallows used to be
situated for the hanging of prisoners.
Local residents say they have not seen the shadow before but it has now become an online sensation after being shared thousands of times on social media .

 The shadow bears a strong resemblance to someone hanging from a rope when a 20mph road sign at the junction is exposed to midday sun.
