Bayelsa Decides: Thugs Disrupt Voting Materials In Otuopoti

The governorship election re-run is underway in Bayelsa State with skirmishes reported in some areas.
Thugs disrupted accreditation exercise at Otuopoti community in Ogbia Local Government area of the State.

AN24 can confirm that thugs invaded polling unit at Oguta-Otuopoti unit 1 located by the riverside, while INEC officials were setting up their tables for the exercise.
 The thugs also snatched INEC voting materials and threw them into the river before soldiers shot into the air to scare them away. The materials were later retrieved from the river.
However, at Otuokpoti Ward 2 Unit 15, also in Ogbia, the atmosphere was peaceful, as voters turned out in their numbers. As at 9:45 am accreditation had begun.

Meanwhile, accreditation is still going on as of 12noon at Famgbe. Materials arrived on time. Large turnout of voters. Observers from Abuja were present. Card reader in Unit 6 did not perform well.
