IS FANI F. KAYODE BECOMING A NUISANCE

I read an article by Fani Kayode tagged: JAN.15TH 1966 A NIGHT OF SLAUGHTER AND BLOOD on one of Nigeria's and Africa's most widely read blog - linda ikeji's blog and i was peeved at the write up. It was patently inciting and  uncalled for IN A TIME when the country is facing economic, political and ethnic and possibly anarchy and doom.

I do know that when a new government comes to power, some elements who should be regarded as mentors and godfathers disappoint some of us who look up to them for the unity and peace of our nation. By criticizing the government. This attitude will continue on a round table bases.

I see Linda Ikeji as very responsible as i go through her blog sometimes. Posting that war inciting article on her blog, is really disappointing as there are lots of educative articles sent to her email by young Nigerians who would have loved their articles published on her blog. Which she hardly post.   The issue FFK raised with a memory of a six year old as he then was that the ibos or hausas  are the masterminds of the coups that led to the Nigerian civil War,  should be disregarded since he would not be entirely to blame being a man noted for ambivalence and speaking from two sides of the mouth .

  The thing is, Where , when and how did the Igbos slaughter the Hausas . In 1966 , his father was known to have associated with Hausas and was the one that led the insurgents to the premier lodge in Ibadan. Perhaps that explains the irrelevant outburst laced with guilty conscience and cowardice . The coup wrongly tagged "Igbo coup " has now been proven to be Nationalistic. Some of us read history for crying out loud. I rest my case at this juncture as am not about to give stories.

This is democracy FFK! We are not in the military era where soldiers obey commands. My generation was not there when all those coups happened. How can YOU a small boy of 6 years old as at that time, remember such details, yet you don't remember the name of the Ibo soldier who told you, your father will not be killed. Are you so intelligent, that you are not yet a professor right now? What proof do you have to tell Nigerians what your father told you on the "phone" as at that time. I will not refer Nigerians to go read up your post on the blog, because this may make you more unpopular.

That said, I do not wish to bring back memories and history like you did, but you should know that your article is very inciting, uncalled for and totally useless aimed to cause trouble amongst ethnic groups. From the comments of linda's blog post, you could see that people wrote that IBB, OBJ and others be killed. The minds of Nigerians are biased by this post and hope that Linda do not allow these politicians daint the image she had struggled to build for herself without their help or anyone else as she claimed to fall.

Final words, I personally have no grudges against FFK, but he really have disappointed me  I love you very much and do not wish you fade away over irrelevant articles as Nigerians  and its youths are well informed people. Please Sir, i would really want you to write on topics that will bring unity in Nigeria. Move on, if your father was a hero, we have heard you sir, its noted, but please can we just leave the military coups era out of this age? 

President Buhari has come to stay, whether you or anyone likes it or not. All we need do is pray for the Almighty God who is superior to all government to guard and guide him, Let God help him to disappoint the evil men who wants to use him to cause pain to the masses to their own detriment and downfall. There is nothing God cannot do FFK. Trust me! There is absolutely nothing in this life. What works have you done now that when you die, you will present to your maker or whatever you believe in. I beg to rest my case.
