Woman discovers she has tumour on her ovary - thanks to her VET
Grateful Kath O'Regan, 50, was taking her two Siamese cats Shammy and Georgie for a check up when she told vet Brad Cooper about the severe stomach pains she had suffering.
Her description of her symptoms rang alarm bells for 41 year old Brad of the Folly Gardens Veterinary Clinic in Cheltenham and he advised her to go for a scan - which led to the discovery of the tumour.
Kath, of Swindon Village, Cheltenham, who had been suffering stomach pains for five years, said "I was batting my head against a brick wall. I didn't know what was wrong with me. I thought maybe I had caught something from my cats."
Brad, a vet for 20 years, said "People always open up at the practice. Although I'm a vet and not a doctor, the symptoms didn't sound very normal."
Kath said: "I was bloated. My stomach felt like it was going to explode. I had terrible digestion problems and a loss of appetite."
