80 Year Old Retired Soldier, dies months after raiders beat him to a pulp for his life savings

Former soldier Tommy Ward who was beaten to a pulp by raiders for his life savings has died four months after the brutal attack.
Mr Ward, 80, was found badly injured at his home in Salisbury Road on Thursday 1 October 2015.
He was receiving ongoing care following the incident but sadly died at Rotherham Hospital last night.


Shocked Sunday People readers helped raise more than £30,000 for the plucky pensioner.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out over the coming days to determine what caused his death.
A substantial amount of money is believed to have been taken from Mr Ward?s home, along with a safety deposit box, when the incident happened.
