Do you find yourself constantly comparing yourself to others? “Why do they have that and I don’t?” Are these your thoughts?

 

“Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?” -Proverbs 27:4-

 Envy, Jealousy & Covetousness

…are like the “Dark Triad” in the world of thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Behind jealousy, envy and covetousness, you usually find a lack of confidence. But I want to make it clear, I’m not talking about GOD’S jealousy, because that is a different kind of jealousy, like a hen jealously shielding her chicks.
The jealousy I’m talking about is the ungodly kind…
Most of you probably know exactly what I’m talking about.

Though very wicked, envy, jealousy and covetousness all have a root cause. Like any offense, there is always a motive. And every motive begins with an unfulfilled desire or need.
These individual issues have a root  They came from somewhere—whether developed in childhood or developed in adulthood.

If we can explore the core problem(s), and get through these issues we can come to a peace with ourselves and be content with who we are in YAHUSHUA our MASHIACH (JESUS CHRIST in Hebrew).
If you are struggling with this, something in your past or life in general, is triggering this set of emotions, and it’s most common that the original stressor came in childhood.

It’s not impossible to be delivered from this “dark triad,” but it’s going to take humility, integrity and moral character to accept this and deal with this! “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save” (Isaiah 59:1).
Don’t be ashamed. We all have our past. The only shame is in not being honest and dealing with this stuff. I want to help you to see the overall picture, and get a head start to move on from these emotions.

Spiritual Dangers

These three emotions are very deadly and if you study the patterns of this dark triad they can lead to Judas, Cain or Esau behaviors and attitudes.
Judas betrayed because he wanted wealth. He wanted money that didn’t belong to him and began to steal (John 12:6), later betraying YAHUSHUA HIMSELF (Mt 26:14-16). Judas was reprobate, a “son of perdition,” “doomed to destruction” (Jn 17:12).
 
Esau gave away his birthright for a temporary meal because he didn’t treasure what was already his and instead coveted his brother’s meal (Gen 25:33-34). Later when Esau knew the true value of his birthright, it was already too late. He had given it away, and he was also reprobate (Heb 12:16-17).

Does GOD hate anyone? Yes, for YAH has said, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated” (Romans 9:13). Do you really want to be like the reprobate who are full of jealousy, envy and covetousness? That’s not a road you want to go down.
And my final example, Cain slew Abel because he couldn’t stand Abel’s sacrifice being better than his own—even though YAH told him all he had to do to have YAH’S favor was simply obey, do what’s right instead of sin (Gen 4:6-8).
Cain was overtaken with jealousy. Be “not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous” (1 John 3:12).
Did you actually read that? It tells us he killed his brother and tells us exactly why he did so, “his deeds were evil.” If he, and frankly all these men, would just have done what was right, they would have had YAH’S favor.

Making Comparisons

What you will figure out if you haven’t already is that making comparisons stirs up this triad, my friends. So if you regularly battle this triad, before you even know the root cause in your life, that’s one thing you need to stop right away. Stop making comparisons between yourself and others.

Truly making comparisons can go two ways. It either stirs up arrogance and pride (if you think you are better than others), or depression and the triad of jealousy, envy, covetousness (if you think others are better or have something better than you).
This evil triad is fueled by making comparisons and not being content with what YAH has already given you. Or not being willing to work for something good and pay the price. I already mentioned Cain, Judas and Esau—and that we don’t want to be anything like them.

We shouldn’t compare ourselves to the heathen or to our brothers and sisters in YAHUSHUA. You shouldn’t have desires for things just because your brother or sister has something you don’t, then you fixate on it and a desire is fueled.

SOLUTIONS

Thank you for taking the time to read this. This is very important stuff to deal with because these emotions can lead to spiritual death or turn you into something you will regret later on down the road.
These 3 emotions are very bitter to the soul and can cause you much mental torment and will trouble others around you.

“Let your conduct be without covetousness, and be content with such things as you have. For HE HIMSELF has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'” -Hebrews 13:5-

Take the time to work on these things and work towards eliminating them through the Name and Blood of YAHUSHUA our MASHIACH. Prayerfully fight against these spirits daily and come out of agreement with them.
If you are ever faced with a circumstance where this triad of emotions is manifesting in anyway, do the opposite instead and you will see great results down the road as you put this into practice.


May YAHUVEH, YAHUSHUA and the PRECIOUS RUACH HA KODESH continue to give us wisdom in how to deal with our thoughts, emotions and behaviors that are hindering us in YAHUSHUA our MASHIACH’s Name!
