Shekira Thompson was caught with a half-pound package of the white powder, worth $10,000, inserted into her private area on Sunday as she returned to New York from a trip to her native Jamaica, police say.
During a routine screening at about 1pm, US Customs police at JFK Airport pulled her aside after noticing she was sweating profusely, said a law enforcement source.
Thompson, who lives in Springfield Gardens in Queens, New York, was brought to a private search room where she admitted to hiding the drugs.
The 24-year-old produced an oval-shaped ball, wrapped in brown duct tape, containing about 255.5 grams of cocaine, according to authorities.
