A Standing Ovation for Bukky Ajayi at the 2016 AMVCA

 It was a standing Ovation today for our veteran Actor mummy Bukky Ajayi. It is just the grace of God or nothing, not by power or might for one to  grow old these days.  That grace is what veteran Nollywood actress Zainab Bukki Ajayi is  enjoying as she clocked 82 on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.  Mama Bukky Ajayi as she is fondly referred to studied drama at the  Institute of Drama, London.


 She later worked a while in London before  coming to Nigeria where she started a broadcasting career as an  announcer, presenter and newscaster at Nigerian Television Authority.  Ajayi was a part of the now rested TV series Village Headmaster. She is  seen by many as a living legend of the Nigerian film industry. Despite  her advanced age.

 The Award for veteran Actress went to her, although she was on wheel chair you could feel her joy and has asked for forgiveness from friends and non friends.

As she would say '' Peace''

Following the backlash that trailed her performance at Shatta Wale's Reign Concert over the weekend, Ghanaian singer,  Fantana  has now released a statement.  The singer stated that she is not ashamed of being a woman and also mesntruating. Her statement read in part;  "Regardless of my costume being transparent, my only option was to put on a sanitary pad and still go ahead to perform. I am a woman and I’m not ashamed of menstruating. "I want to urge every woman to resist being discriminated against because of menstruation. I hope some people read wide and learn about menstrual health to stop the stereotype against young girls and women. "Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
