Beaten for not saying ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’
In what appeared to be another incident of blatant violence
against Muslims, Hindu extremists allegedly broke the arm of a seminary
student and assaulted two of his friends after they refused to chant
pro-India slogans on Saturday.
According to details, Hindu extremists confronted the three Muslim
seminary students at a park and asked them to chant “Bharat mata ki
jai”. When they refused to do so, the extremists beat them up, so much
so that one of them broke his arm.
“We had gone to a park when some men came, slapped us and asked us to
shout, “Bharat Mata ki Jai Ho”. Then they beat us and threw away our
caps,” said Mohammad Dilkash, Indian media reported.
Police said they have filed a case and are investigating its details.
