The man - named as Faycal Cheffou - was arrested on Saturday but earlier today police appeared to step up their probe for the third bomber by putting out moving footage of the trio.
Now authorities have confirmed the suspect has been released due to a lack of evidence.

It means police are still looking to identify the suspect dressed in white, who was seen calmly pushing his luggage through the departure lounge at Brussels Airport.

Just moments after this footage, his two companions detonated two huge suicide bombs, killing 15 people and injuring dozens more.

The man on the right, wearing a black, bucket-style hat, glasses and with a goatee beard, had already fled.

Police say he brought the largest of the three 'suitcase bombs' to Zaventem Airport but apparently lost his nerve to detonate it.

His partners in crime, Najim Laachraoui and Ibrahim El Bakraoui, did not, and killed 15 people in the departures hall.
It comes as the death toll from last Tuesday's bombings rose to 35.
