Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rescue eight people from Tornado rollercoaster at M&D's theme park in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire

This is the dramatic moment a group of people were pulled from a rollercoaster after it stopped working 20ft off the ground.
Firefighters were called to the M&D theme park in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, at around 2.50pm this afternoon to help eight people who were stuck on the ride.

The group had been on the Tornado rollercoaster in the theme park when it suddenly came to a halt - leaving the thrillseekers some 20ft up in the middle of a loop
A cherry picker was used by fire crews who safely removed five youths, two women and one man from the ride.
No-one was injured in the incident.
