Leicester fan wins £72,000 from £50 bet - but misses out on another £19,000 by a few hours

 

When you convert a £50 bet into a top Premier League player's weekly pay packet, you have every right to feel very happy with yourself.
However, in the case of one Leicester City fan who had backed his team to win the title,
he might now be wondering what might have been.

The mystery supporter probably got some funny looks back in August, when he placed a £50 Ladbrokes bet on Leicester to win the Premier League. Back then, the odds were 5000/1 for a good reason - it seemed an impossibility. 

However, with Claudio Ranieri's men currently top of the table, the fan from Warwickshire - who wishes to remain anonymous - decided to turn his back on his potential £250,000 winnings and cash out on Saturday. He walks away with a massive £72,335 of Ladbrokes' money. 

 But here's the thing. As his quote reveals, the anonymous punter cashed out just BEFORE Leicester's 1-0 win against Watford.
We can reveal that, had he waited a few more hours until AFTER that match, his cash out would have been worth £91,322.
In short, if he had just held on for a few more hours, he would have earned an additional £18,986.

With £72,335 in his pocket, he's probably not too bothered. But losing out on nearly twenty grand because you couldn't hang on one more day?
No wonder he's chosen to remain anonymous… lol!
