Meet the Beautiful Nollywood's Northern Star. Hauwa Allahbura

Hauwa Allahbura who has come a long way from being the young girl who has traversed around Nigeria with her customs officer father and as a beauty queen (Miss FCT 2012); to one of the fresh faces in a Nollywood set to take its audience by storm.

This Kanam LGA of Plateau State native had always dreamt of being a talk show host like Oprah, a dream that has been fulfilled but fate through some nudging from mentors threw her into the arms of acting and film.

Her desire for acting started in 2014, triggered by some directors and producers who saw potential and drive in this young talent, this propelled and inspired her to strive harder, which led to her going to Study acting for film in the famed New York Film Academy. She is also a Ford Foundation and AFRIFF scholar having been sponsored on film courses by both organisations.

Hauwa has a recurring role in Mnet’s Tinsel as Maro, a young writer under Brenda’s tutelage; despite acting for two years, she counts her first foray into acting in October 2014 in the movie Rovieno. She has worked with notable names in the industry like, Frank Rajah in 18th Anniver-sary, Fred Amata in Newmans Street, Wind Chaser, Irresistable and many others.

She is currently working on her short film titled Life In Reverse, a story about a Christian girl saved by a Muslim Woman in the heat of Crisis in Jos. The aim of the project is to promote unity little wonder as she speaks Hausa and Yoruba fluently.

Catch Hauwa in her first lead role in the Femi Odugbemi directed film, Gidi Blues coming out in the coming months. In her words “Gidi Blues is a world Class Film that helped me stretch myself as an actor, I fell in love with the script and it is a film that can be screened any where in the world, with a story people can connect with”

Suffice to say, Hauwa is definitely not a shooting star, she is here to take her rightful place in the constellation of Nollywood’s firmament.
