Ghana’s security must not dwell on prophecies - Christian Council

 

 
The General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana has urged the security chiefs to be professional and not run the security of the country on the “back of prophecies.”

Speaking on Joy News’ AM Show, Monday, Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong said security agencies
must put in place measures at various ports of entry to avert any possible terrorist attack and leave prophecies for Christians to pray about.

His comments follow a warning by popular Nigerian Prophet, T.B Joshua that there is an imminent terrorist attack on Ghana and Nigeria. He asked members of his Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) on Sunday to pray against the planned ‘foreign attacks’.

The Prophet specifically said the attacks will occur at places where people are gathered.

“I am seeing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday –if I may say Thursday – because these evil people, they are very funny. Anything can just happen. You will be very shocked to see what will happen because when the prayer is going in this direction them [attackers] change to [another] direction.”

Prophet TB Joshua said the attacks on the two nations will not be local but foreign attacks and will take place this month.

His prophecy has created fear and panic especially, at a time when two of Ghana's neighbouring countries - Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast have suffered terrorist attacks. The Christian Council believes that the security agencies in Ghana are not doing enough to prevent possible terrorist attacks.

“Even before prophecies or anything, we have been told that the security people have given that signal… but ask yourself, what has changed? What is different?” Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong asked.
