'Looks like we dodged a £40m bullet!' – reaction to John Stones rumour

Jose Mourinho spent all last summer trying to sign the 21-year-old when he was manager, with Stones even handing in a transfer request to try and force a move to the champions.
However, Roberto Martinez and the Everton board stood firm, despite the £40m bid, and now Chelsea fans are thanking the club for not taking their money.


Stones has been widely criticised this season as Everton have dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League and he was chastised for his performance in the humiliating 4-0 drubbing at the hands of city rivals Liverpool on Wednesday night.
That performance confirmed to many that Chelsea dodged a bullet last summer and they do not want the club making the same mistake this time around.

"Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
