Sad: Last words of terrified tourist who vanished after being dragged under by crocodile during night swim
A woman on holiday screamed "a croc's got me" during a night time holiday swim in Australia before vanishing in the water.
The woman, aged 46, was swimming with her friend in the shallow water at Thornton Beach in the World Heritage-listed Daintree National Park in Queensland.
Police Constable Russell Parker said: "Her 47-year-old friend tried to grab her and drag her to safety but she just wasn't able to do that."
The incident took place 10.30pm last night.
He said that because of this they may not have known the waters were a crocodile habitat.
Officers have employed a helicopter at the scene which used thermal imaging to try and find the woman's body.
However the search was unsuccessful.
A search operation will continue today.
