#NFF Saga: Giwa Poised to Assume Leadership Today
The prolonged leadership tussle at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to get nastier as the Chris Giwa-led faction has vowed to assume duties on Tuesday (today) at the Glass House secretariat in Abuja.
Ambassador Giwa, the factional head of the NFF, told newsmen on Friday
prior to his arrest that he’ll be resuming duties on Monday, only for his media chief, Effiong Johnson to release a statement claiming the planned resumption has been postponed to Tuesday, according to Vanguard.
We promised the nation to be in the office today (Monday). “However, the board has decided to hold its meeting to deliberate on our programme of activities and how to use football to develop and employ our youths,’’ the statement said.
The Giwa-led group further urged media practitioners not to allow themselves to be used by people who believe in spreading falsehood, stressing that “Journalism’s principles of fairness, balance and neutrality should be embraced at all times.’’
