A five-year-old boy was pulled unconscious from a hot tub after getting sucked into an underwater drain during a holiday in South Africa.
Sam Leathes’ frantic mum Lucinda tried to release him but his tummy had created a vacuum on the drain and it was only when she hit the off switch that he got free.
He quickly recovered, but has scars on his stomach.

Lucinda, 38, of Wandsworth, South West London, said: “I knew they recommended only over 16s go in, but I was right next to Sam, I thought he was safe.
“I would not have thought of the danger of drains.
