Cristiano Ronaldo  has topped the Forbes list of the world's highest paid athletes for the first time.
The Real Madrid star became the first footballer to do so after raking in a whopping £60 million last year.

Ronaldo, 31, earned £38.4 million from salary and £21.6 million from endorsements to take him to the number one spot.

The three-time FIFA player of the year is described as a 'marketing juggernaut' and has a massive social media presence with 214 5 million followers across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

"Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
