Pensioner describes seeing attacker 'randomly shooting'
Eyewitnesses have been talking today about the moment the attackers struck.
Paul Roos, 77, said he saw one of the attackers “randomly shooting” in the departures hall from about 50 metres (55 yards) away.
“He was wearing all black. His face was not masked,” said Roos, a South African on his way home after a holiday in southern Turkey.
“We ducked behind a counter but I stood up and watched him.
Two explosions went off shortly after one another. By that time he had stopped shooting,” Roos told Reuters.
“He turned around and started coming towards us. He was holding his gun inside his jacket. He looked around anxiously to see if anyone was going to stop him and then went down the escalator ... We heard some more gunfire and then another explosion, and then it was over.”

Three women who were travelling together from Barcelona said they could have been caught in the attacks had they missed their connection in Istanbul.
“We were running from Barcelona, got to Istanbul, got there pretty late, almost missed the flight, got a little nervous about almost missing the flight, and then saw the news on the plane, and you know it...we’re really happy to be home,” one of the women said.
One of her travelling companions said she thought security in Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport was thorough.
“From a connecting flight on an international flight - we went through two additional check points just to get to our gate,” she said.
“We went through metal detectors, our bags went through, then our passports were checked....the security seemed good,” she said.
'I saw a fireball - then the ceiling came down'
Eyewitness Will Carter who was inside the terminal, said he heard explosions. Speaking to Radio 5Live he said: “I saw a fireball and some of the ceiling came down - just before there was panic and people running.”
