Ojo Maduekwe’s Sudden Death Shocks Political Class
Nigeria’s political class was yesterday thrown into mourning following the sudden death of the country’s immediate past Ambassador to Canada, Chief Ojo Maduekwe. He was aged 71.
His death was confirmed to LEADERSHIP by a family source, who said Maduekwe died after a brief illness in a hospital in Abuja, late yesterday.
Maduekwe until his death was the secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees.
LEADERSHIP gathered that he died in Abuja shortly after he arrived from a trip to the United States. He was said to have developed a health condition upon his arrival into Nigeria and was taken to a hospital where he died
