Police confirm they are investigating parents but NOT zoo after boy's fall into enclosure
Police have confirmed they are investigating the parents of a four-year-old boy who fell into a gorilla enclosure but NOT Cincinnati Zoo .
City of Cincinnati Police confirmed for the first time in an official statement that the parents of little Isaiah Dickerson could be prosecuted over the incident.
Mum Michelle Gregg was heard screaming in horror after Isaiah managed to find his way into the gorilla enclosure at the zoo on Saturday.
Harambe, a 17-year-old silverback gorilla, was shot dead as zookeepers feared for the child's safety.
The incident sparked outrage after footage showed Harambe was trying to protect Isaiah in the moments before he was killed.
Police had earlier refused to be drawn on whether the parents or the zoo could face a criminal investigation but clarified their stance this morning.
