Man gets too hot during heatwave and turns his entire front room into a swimming pool

A man has found the perfect way to cool himself off in a heatwave - by building aswimming pool in his front room.

Proud homeowner Hasim Kilicoglu, who lives in Hilvan district of Sanliurfa Province in south-eastern Turkey, said that the heat had proved unbearable in recent weeks.

In the video, shot before the country's recent troubles, he said: "I work as a painter but nobody is working at the moment, the temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius around here and it's just not possible to do anything."

But when he then heard about somebody who had an indoor pool on television, he decided to make his own.

Instead of digging down into the floor though, he simply built a wall and lined it with plastic sheeting before filling the whole thing with water.

He said: "I wanted to make sure it was deep enough so that I could dive inside, but I'm really happy with the way it worked out."
