Passenger refuses to sit beside Muslim who she saw texting word 'Allah' - but they end becoming friends
A Muslim plane passenger struck up an unlikely friendship with a woman who was too frightened to sit next to her after watching her write a text containing the word ‘Allah’.
Jiva Akbor, 27, was flying from Glasgow to Malaga, when another passenger raised concerns with an air hostess over the message which was written in Arabic.
The woman - named only as Beverley - left her seat and returned with the air hostess.
But the air hostess told Beverley that if she had an issue, she could leave the plane instead of Jiva.
And in a unusual turn of events Jiva went on to explain that Allah means God in Arabic, and after striking up a conversation the pair became friends.
Jiva from Oldham, Greater Manchester, posted the exchange on Facebook and it has now gone viral with more than 7,500 likes and the same amount of shares.
