TWO KNIFEMEN WHO 'CUT PRIEST'S THROAT ARE SHOT DEAD AFTER TAKING NUNS AND WORSHIPPERS HOSTAGE'

Two knifemen took a priest, nuns and worshippers hostage after storming a church in France before being shot dead by police.
The knife-wielding hostage-takers entered the Church of the Gambetta at around 9.45am local time (8.45am UK time) during morning prayers.
A third nun is said to have escaped and raised the alarm during the horror.

Around an hour later the two knifemen were shot dead by police at the scene, inside Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray commune in the Haute-Normandie region of northern France.
According to Le Figaro the priest being held was killed after having his throat slit by the hostage-takers.
