Camping horror as tree crushes man to death in tent during Edinburgh Fringe Festival weekend

A man has been crushed to death by a 'massive' tree after it fell on his tent while he was camping during the Edinburgh Festival.
Two men were camping on the banks of the Water of Leith in Edinburgh when the 'very large' tree came down - killing one in his SLEEP, according to the Daily Record.

The victim - who was pronounced dead at the scene - has not yet been named and no other details of his identity have been released. Officers are trying to contact his next of kin.
The other unnamed 35-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital to be treated, according to the BBC.
It's understood the men had been 'wild camping' in the woodland.
Hundreds of thousands of people have descended on the city for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which started yesteday.
It's not known if the dead man was Edinburgh for the festival. A spokeswoman for Edinburgh Festival Fringe said they weren't immediately aware of any connection.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 3.30am on Saturday on Miller Row in the Dean Village area of the city.
The tree is believed to have fallen naturally - despite pictures emerging from the scene showing sawn off cuts of the trunk, believed to have been made during the operation.
