Princess Beatrice and boyfriend Dave Clark ‘split’ after 10 years together

Princess Beatrice and her longterm boyfriend Dave Clark have reportedly called time on their romance.

The pair are said to have split following make or break talks over whether they should tie the knot.

The 27-year-old is believed to be disappointed that Dave, 32, never popped the question after she joined him in America when he moved Stateside for a role at Uber.

"After ten years together, Beatrice and Dave had to wonder why they were not married," a source said.

"They talked it through and decided to take time apart to reflect on the future. They remain friends and the decision to break up was mutual."

Beatrice’s sister and parents are said to be shocked by the news of the split.

Another source added to The Mail on Sunday : "Sarah considers Dave to be part of the family. She is very sad it didn't work out. They have been together longer than many marriages last."

However, it’s been claimed that Prince William wasn’t as keen on him and chose not to invite him to the Royal Wedding in 2011.

It’s also been said that the Succession of the Crown Act might have caused issues as it requires the first six in line to the Throne to seek Royal approval.

However, when Charlotte was born - and Beatrice was pushed back to seventh in line to the throne - there was still no proposal.

The source continued: "Beatrice has become a lot more assertive and confident recently. She gave Dave an ultimatum, but it backfired because he did not ask her to marry him. They both agreed that with no marriage in their future, it was time to go separate ways."
