UBA DENIES BEING BANNED FROM FOREX MARKET OVER NON REMMITTANCE OF NNPC FUNDS

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has vehemently denied reports that it has been banned by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over non-remittance of NNPC/NLNG dollar deposits. In a press statement issued by the bank’s corporate communications head, Charles Aigbe, the bank stated:


 “Our attention has been drawn to report of the ban of UBA from the foreign exchange market by the CBN over the non-remittance of NNPC/NLNG dollar deposits. “We wish to state very categorically that UBA has completely remitted all NNPC/NLNG dollar deposits. “We thank all our numerous customers, business partners and other stakeholders who have reached out to us on account of this report.”

Her statement read in part;  "Regardless of my costume being transparent, my only option was to put on a sanitary pad and still go ahead to perform. I am a woman and I’m not ashamed of menstruating. "I want to urge every woman to resist being discriminated against because of menstruation. I hope some people read wide and learn about menstrual health to stop the stereotype against young girls and women. "Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
