A Ugandan Olympian had his medal hopes crushed in the most painful way possible - after falling face first into a hurdle.
Jacob Araptany was third in the 3000m Steeplechase final on Wednesday when his feet went from underneath him and he collapsed into the obstacle.

The 22-year-old appeared to lose his balance as he approached the jump and was lucky to avoid collision with any of the other athletes.
Araptany was too far behind the pack by the time that he got back to his feet and dropped out of the race, ending his dream of claiming a medal.
