APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ANORUO NORA NKECHINYERE

Hi people, This letter was sent to members of the Nigeria Bar Association of Nigeria and I was touched by this and thought I share it online for well meaning Nigerians and other lawyers who may not have received this letter, to come to the aid of this young female lawyer who needs to undergo a brain surgery, before it gets late. The letter reads thus;

APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ANORUO NORA NKECHINYERE



On behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA), I write to appeal to all lawyers for financial support for Ms. Anoruo Nora Nkechinyere who has been diagnosed of Pituitary Lesion (Brain Tumor). Ms. Anoruo is a lawyer who was called to the Bar in 2012.

The NBA on 6th September, 2016 received a letter of appeal for financial support from Ms. Anoruo requesting for financial assistance. In March, 2016 Ms. Anoruo went for an eye check up as a result of frequent migraines and throbbing pains in her eyes.

She was asked to go for an MRI where she was diagnosed of having Pituitary Lesion (Brain Tumor). She requires about N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira) for the surgery, air ticket, accommodation
and medication. She has been under observation and is need of urgent treatment to have the tumor removed as her right eye has been affected and the tumor is growing bigger by the day. As a young lawyer, she cannot afford to pay for the medical treatment and has asked the NBA to appeal to lawyers for financial assistance on her behalf.

One of the cardinal aims and policies of the NBA as enshrined in the NBA Constitution is
overseeing the welfare of members. Consequently, the NBA would like to appeal to our members to come to the aid of Ms. Anoruo. She has been able to raise the sum of N2,000,000 (Two Million Naira) but still needs to raise N3,000,000 (Three Million
Naira) to enable her commence treatment.
