Texas High School Shooting Results In 1 Person Dead, 2 People Wounded
A Thursday morning shooting at a southwest Texas high school has left at least one person dead and two people wounded, according to the local newspaper in Alpine, Texas.
Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson said that the person responsible for the shooting died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He said one student was hospitalized after being shot and that the other person injured was a police officer who was shot by a marshal while responding to the initial shooting at the school.
The Alpine Avalanche summarized the situation as of around 10:40 a.m. CT on its Facebook page.
“One student shot, one student took own life. Law enforcement officer shot in friendly fire,” the Avalanche reported.
